The Sunset Bar — Kalpitiya
The Sunset Bar is right at the kite spot — our rooftop terrace overlooking the Kalpitiya Lagoon. During the day it's the place to stop by between sessions or to check the conditions. When the wind picks up, everyone heads to the water. When the sun goes down, everyone comes back.
Cold beers, fresh juices, bar snacks and music. No dress code, no reservations — just good people, great sunsets and stories from the water.

Drinks & bar snacks
Cold beers, cocktails, fresh juices, soft drinks and light snacks. The bar is open from mid-morning and stays lively well into the evening during the season.
Sunset view over the lagoon
The rooftop terrace faces west over the lagoon. Most evenings the light is worth stopping for.
The atmosphere
Upbeat music and a mix of riders from all over the world. Most people end up staying longer than they planned.
Our dinner buffet — local + international, every evening
Dinner is served every evening during the season, and it's usually when everyone meets again after being on the water. Our local chef prepares a hearty buffet that mixes Sri Lankan classics with international favourites — and it changes every night.
Fresh homemade curry, grilled seafood, chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies, a variety of pastas, and our legendary Sri Lankan Kothu. Dinner is usually when students, instructors and staff end up at the same table after a day on the water.

After the sessions
Most people come here for the wind, but it's normal to end up spending time together after the sessions. It's where people usually meet after riding — regardless of level — is just a rider who had a good day on the water.
There's nothing organised about it. People simply end up here after kiting. We just make sure there's something cold to drink and dinner ready later on.
