Yoga in Kalpitiya — before the wind kicks in
Early morning sessions on our open-air platform right by the lagoon. Shoulders that took a beating yesterday, a back that's been pulling a bar for three hours — this is yoga for kiters, not for a spa retreat. Stretch, loosen, prepare. Then go kite. Or just come for the peace and the view.
Start your day right — then go shred
Kalpitiya is a small fishing village — not a resort town. Our yoga platform sits right at the water's edge. In winter, the wind builds through the morning, which means early sessions are calm and unhurried. In summer, the wind is in from early, so morning yoga becomes your window before everything gets physical. Either way, the lagoon is right there those settings that makes it genuinely easy to slow down and breathe before a day on the kite.
Sessions happen in the early morning during the windy season, usually on request and depending on instructor availability. Some days it's a small private session, other days it turns into a group flow with guests and instructors. We also do sunset yoga on special evenings when the wind drops and the light is golden over the lagoon.
You don't have to be staying with us to join. Just contact us and ask about the schedule.
Everything you need to know
When do we practice?
Early mornings before kitesurfing, or late afternoons as sunset sessions when the wind calms down. Timing depends on wind conditions and instructor availability. We announce upcoming sessions in our daily WhatsApp group.
Class size & format
Usually between 1 and 10 people. Some days it's a quiet solo session, other days it becomes a social group flow with riders from all over the world. All levels welcome — from complete beginners to regular practitioners.
What to bring
Just yourself and good vibes — we provide everything else, including yoga mats and an open-air platform right on the lagoon. You'll hear the water. You might hear the wind picking up. No previous experience needed. No dress code.
What type of yoga do we offer?
Our certified instructors adapt each session to the group. Depending on the teacher and the day, classes can include:
Hatha Yoga
The most common format. Slow, grounding, focused on alignment and breath. Perfect for the morning before kiting.
Vinyasa Flow
Movement linked with breath. More dynamic, great for warming up the body for a day of physical activity.
Ashtanga-inspired
More structured and progressive. Good for those who want a challenge and a proper physical practice.
Yoga session prices
Available on request during the season. Booking through our WhatsApp group or contact form.

Morning yoga on the lagoon, then a day on the kite, then the sunset bar. That's a pretty good day by any measure. Contact us to ask about the next session.
