Travelling solo is one of the best ways to do this trip

Most of the people who come to MKS alone tell us it's the best decision they made. You arrive, you meet riders from Spain, France, Germany, the UK, Brazil — all here for the same thing. The kite camp atmosphere makes it natural.

The dorm option is the most social — you're right in the middle of it. But even if you prefer a private bungalow, the community is there at the sessions, at the sunset bar and in the WhatsApp group every morning.

  • Private lessons — all the coaching for yourself, no sharing the instructor
  • Community of kiters from around the world every season
  • Sunset bar, yoga and camp life that's genuinely social
  • 5 package options to fit your budget and comfort level
  • Multilingual instructors — Spanish, English, French, Dutch, German

Questions from solo travellers

Is it easy to meet people coming alone to MKS?
Yes, very. The camp is set up in a way that makes it natural — shared sessions, the sunset bar, morning yoga and a WhatsApp group that keeps everyone in the loop. Most solo travellers end up having a more social trip than they expected. The dorm room is the most social option, but even private bungalow guests are fully part of the community.
What is the difference between the solo packs and the couple packs?
Solo packs include private lessons (1 instructor per 1 rider), which means all the coaching attention is on you. Couple packs include semi-private lessons (1 instructor, 2 riders). Solo packs also have more accommodation options — from dorm rooms to AC bungalows. Prices are per person in both cases.
Which accommodation option do you recommend for solo travellers?
If you want the most social experience, the dorm is the obvious choice — you're surrounded by other riders from day one. If you prefer your own space after sessions, the AC bungalow (€485 pack) is the most popular option. It gives you privacy when you want it and the community when you want that too.
Can I extend my stay or add extra days once I arrive?
Yes. Extra nights cost from €15/night (dorm) to €30/night (AC bungalow) B&B. Additional lesson hours cost €45/hour private. Many solo travellers end up extending — just let us know when you arrive or in advance if you already know you want more time.
I'm a complete beginner — will I be able to kite independently after the course?
It depends on several factors — your natural ability, wind conditions and how quickly you adapt. After 9 hours of private lessons, many of our students can ride downwind comfortably in both directions. Some reach full independence (riding upwind) and get the IKO certificate — but every student progresses differently. If you need more hours, we add them at €45/hour.
What level will I reach after the 9-hour course?
It depends on your natural ability, the wind conditions and how quickly you adapt. After 9 hours of private lessons, many of our students can ride downwind comfortably in both directions. Some reach full independence — riding upwind — and get the IKO certificate. But every student progresses differently and there is no guaranteed outcome. If you need more hours to reach independence, we add them at €45/hour.
I've finished my 9 hours — can I rent gear now?
If your instructor certifies you as an independent kiter — able to ride upwind — yes, you can rent equipment at MKS and at IKO schools worldwide. If you're not quite there yet, you have the option to add more lesson hours until you reach that level. We'll be honest with you about where you are.
I'm travelling solo but would like to share lessons with someone — is that possible?
Possibly. We'd need to check whether another student on the same dates and at the same level wants to share lessons with you. We can't guarantee it, but if someone is in the same situation for the same dates, we can coordinate and offer semi-private lessons at €30/hour per person instead of €45/hour private. Just mention it when you book.
